Malcolm Welford

Malcolm William Welford (b.1984, England) is a British Architect (ARB-UK/RIBA) and artist. He is based between Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England and Sydney, Australia.
 
His work focuses on design innovation with a focus on equality and diversity and a specialism in accessibility. 
 
Welford has extensive experience working in government on the design and delivery of architectural schemes. 
 
His previous projects include primary and secondary schools, libraries, community and leisure centres, bespoke and mass housing, assisted living premises, aged care facilities, specialist social care adaptations and health institutions. 
 
Having also worked in the private sector, Welford has played a part in major infrastructure schemes with projects which include universities, commercial offices, skyscrapers, train stations and airports. 
 
He has taught architecture and art to both adults and children globally; most recently in the USA, Australia and the United Kingdom. 
 
Welford has been educated internationally gaining skills and experience at Westminster University, Newcastle University, Sydney University, Sunderland University and The Glasgow School of Art. He proudly attended Kenton Comprehensive High School in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
