My current practice has developed around the use of the paradox. I’m particularly drawn to the micro and nano perspectives of our place in the universe, chance influences and the existential. Visuals are used for their aesthetic quality and for their potential to be re-appropriated within a different context. The ideas within my practice often come from playful experimentation: looking at how meaning shifts as forms, positives and negatives are put into dialogue with each other.
Themes of fleeting and eternal, life and death, are explored through visual connotations, selected for their ability to develop narratives that reflect often visually bittersweet images.
The context is subjective and the truths that people seek in the work are open to debate as interpretations are extracted from mere illusion.
