The Ceramics Workshop at Carliol House, is run by NewBridge members Stephen Brown (Ouseburn Pottery) and Juliet Fleming (GOLDTAPPED). The on-site kilns can fire stoneware and earthenware clay, which can be bought in the workshop or you can bring your own. There’s also a selection of glazes, which can be used after bisque firing your ceramics.

Workshop facilities include:
• 2 wheels
• 2 kilns
• Extruder for making coils with 5 different shaped dies
• Modelling and cutting tools
• Dust masks
• Hand building wheels
• Cloths and rolling guides
• Variety of hand tools

All initial bookings will include a health & safety briefing, introduction to equipment, and supervised support. There’s a maximum of 5 people in the workshop space at one time.

These prices are for studio and associate members:

Option 1 – Full day £30, half day £20, including materials, excluding firing

Option 2 – Use of the workshop equipment, excluding materials and firing – £15

Option 3 – Already made your own ceramics elsewhere? Prices for firing only:

Bisque firing (First firing to 1000c): 1/4 of a kiln is £3, 1/2 a kiln is £5, full kiln is £8
Bisque and glaze: 1/4 of a kiln is £9, 1/2 a kiln is £12, full kiln is £16

There is a minimum of 14 day turn around from raw clay to fired piece.
